You will be welcome to come on a ramble and be with people with a wide range of backgrounds, interests and naturally a friendly disposition.
We meet every Sunday for a full day's ramble averaging 8/9 miles with occasional longer distances. On a weekday, usually a Wednesday but occasionally other days, we meet for a morning walk averaging 5/6 miles with the option for lunch at the end. Occasionally there are full day walks during the week - click on the 'Walks Programme' button for full details. The area we ramble spans Weybridge in the north, the South Downs in the south, Dorking in the east, Alton in the west.
The group holds a social event twice a year and arranges some holidays. For walks throughout the UK, click the 'Web links' button and then 'Walks/routes in UK' web address link.
When you have decided that you would like to come on any occasion, you would be invited to consider becoming a member of the Ramblers Association. (details via this link http://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership/about/categoriesrates.htm
We usually walk on a Sunday when there is a full day's walking. On a weekday, the walk is usually a half day starting in the morning and finishing by lunch time. On a Sunday there is the option of a pub lunch en-route or on a weekday at the end. It is possible to bring a picnic lunch but that would need to be eaten close by, as Publicans do not encourage the eating of own food on their premises. Needless to say the weather and or time of year will govern which of these food options is best.
