pages in this web site. All walks are circular unless otherwise stated. If a footpath, stile or access issue should come to your notice for

   Saturday 7th August - Capital Ring stage 5

    Either meet Bookham Station 9.05 where group save tickets can be handed out with prior contact

    with walk leader if you wish to join in. We will take 9.19 train for Vauxhall arriving 10.05

    and on to Brentford arriving 10.37.

    OR if making own way to Brentford let the walk leader know beforehand so that he can look out

    for you.

    You will need to pick up the Southwest trains circular route via Brentford, Hounslow & Richmond.

    Return will be from Sudbury Hill.

Saturday 25th September - Capital Ring stage 6

Either meet Bookham Station 9.05 where groupsave tickets can be handed out with prior contact with walk leader if you wish to join in. We will take 9.19 train for Wimbledon

arriving 9.53 then departing at 10.20 arriving Sudbury Hill 10.57

OR if making own way to Sudbury Hill let the walk leader know beforehand so that he can look out for you. Return will be from Hendon Central.

 

Saturday 2nd October - Railways & Canals special

Led by Gordon Pettitt (ex General manager Southern Region). Walk from St Pancras station to Limehouse station, largely along Regents Canal. Starting with a tour of the new

International Station at St Pancras from the Sir John Betjeman's statue with visits to Kings Cross and Fenchurch Street stations

Either meet Oxshott Station 8.50 where groupsave tickets can be handed out with prior contact with walk leader if you wish to join in. We will take the 9.01 for Waterloo arriving

9.37. 'All zone'cards will be required for travel

OR meet under the clock at Waterloo at 9.45 from where we will take the no 59 bus for St Pancras that stops at stop 'K' outside the station

 

Notes:

Please check that the Capital Ring walks have not been postponed due to inclement weather and also that railway timetables remain as stated. These walks have not been

walked in advance - No dogs please.

 

Tillingbourne Watershed - The source is the Tilling spring near to Leith Hill flowing north to near Wotton, then west to the River Wey at Shalford waterworks. On the one side of

watershed all streams flow into the Tillingbourne, whilst on the other into other rivers. Broadley the route goes on the sandstone to Leith Hill then via Wolvens Lane to the North

Downs and back to Guildford by the North Downs Way. The whole route is about 27 miles long and will be done in 4 stages
